Davey Suicide – Generation F*ckstar Video directed by Chad Michael Ward

The talented Chad Michael Ward directed the just-released video for Generation Fuckstar, the new single from Davey Suicide. Davey Suicide’s band includes Frankie Sil on bass, Ben Graves drumming, Needlz on keyboards, and extra-fabulous Eric Griffin on guitar. The dreadlocked and tattooed singer says, “Generation Fuck Star is about breaking the mold, doing what you want, how you want, and not because you are told to be a certain way. Fans can see through the cookie cutter bands, and that’s why their love for those bands is fleeting. Give them music that means something, and they’ll stand by your side, forever.”

During the heyday of the Pretty Ugly Club in Los Angeles, there were a lot of hard rocking stylish bands producing work somewhere along the junction between 80’s metal and 90’s goth-industrial. For various reasons, which I have spent a while deconstructing, but which I will skip going into here, that scene, for the most part, never quite got those projects signed to major labels, even though many many participants were in big bands both prior and since. I hope Davey Suicide is an augury for a resurgence of this style and sound.

Keep an eye out for Blue Blood beauty Alecia Joy in amongst the varied-looking crowd in the video.
