Drinking Quest: Trilogy Edition

What you see on BlueBlood.net is kind of the Glorious Results of a Misspent Youth. I have indeed playing both drinking D&D and strip D&D (and drinking Tunnels & Trolls and strip T&T, but I’ll spare you my Flying Buffalo deconstruction.)

At any rate, I think I might need the Trilogy Edition of Drinking Quest. There is an MC Lars video and some nifty extras, most notably a Drinking Quest bottle opener. It just makes me really happy that something like Drinking Quest exists. The tabletop gaming system does offer a non-drinking set of rules. I find it refreshing that they offer both. It always seemed unjust that my unsavory teenage pals and I had to make up drinking rules for games put together by people who clearly could have come up with drinking and non-drinking systems.

Happily, Drinking Quest is more egalitarian. Game play cards include monsters like Hot Goth Chick. And they are having a pretty bitchin’ looking Kickstarter. “Please quest responsibly.”

It’s a Drinking Game and a Tabletop RPG! The first 3 Drinking Quest games were cult hits-now they’ve been remastered with new content.

In 2011 Drinking Quest: The Original Drinking RPG spawned a hilarious new genre. The Drinking Quest games are a light RPG, a light Drinking Game (with non drinking rules as well) and a heavy parody experience because it’s such a ridiculous concept.

Since then two sequels have been released: Yeddy Vedder’s Yeti Adventure (2012) and Nectar of the Gods (2013).

The goal of Trilogy Edition is to bring all three games together seamlessly in one package and make all kinds of improvements like:

Full Colour Cards
An Improved D4, D6, D8 System (Instead of 3D6) This adds complexity to the game without adding a single new rule.
Bigger Cards while still staying a good size to bring to the pub
A Bigger, More Attractive Box
Up to 3 new Quests (Consisting of 12 cards each)
Other smaller improvements (Think remastered Star Trek not remastered Star Wars)

The new box holding all three games!

Previously we did an IndieGoGo campaign as a preorder for Drinking Quest 3 so this will be our first full on Kickstarter project (And our first crowd funding campaign using the All-Or-Nothing model).

We’ve done several runs of games with many runs being sold out almost right away. It’s very tough to judge and manage print runs in the tabletop industry. With this Kickstarter we can fill all pre-orders (At the lowest possible price) and avoid selling out right away or having way too many extra games.

Rolling Rock not included

So the goal is to make the best game possible but also give great value to anyone who backs as well as giving away INSTANT BONUSES*. With the main tiers listed above you get:

A physical copy of the game containing up to 216 full colour cards (All with original artwork and content, no duplicate cards), Three dice (four, six and eight sided) a pad of 40 character sheets, instructions and an awesome custom box holding everything neatly inside.
An instant download of the newly released Drinking Quest comic book (for free) which sells for $5 physically
An instant download of some fun Drinking Quest wallpaper
An instant download of “Welcome to the Tabletop” by MC Lars and DQ creator Jason Anarchy (Basically tabletop games needed a party anthem)

*And by instant bonuses we mean within 24 hours upon email request to SteveSummers@DrinkingQuest.com, the rest will be sent at the end of the campaign.

The cards act as the Game Master and tell the story one puzzle piece at a time like Pulp Fiction or Lost. Running an RPG can be a lot of work so with Drinking Quest you can have an RPG that sets up in 2 minutes and doesn’t need a GM to run things.

Sober Origins features the heroes at the beginning of their adventures when they started “Questing”

This quest can be added onto any of the three Drinking Quest games contained in Trilogy Edition. Cards include: “Bath Finder”, “Hammered Head Shark”, “Lots of Shots” “20 Sided Death” and “A Brew Hope”

This should be the hardest quest of all… great for those with high drinking tolerance

This quest is called Grogderp’s Dungeon and can be added onto any of the three games contained in Trilogy Edition. It’s low on gimmick factor but high on further combining the worlds of Drinking and Role Playing Games! A new dungeon crawl featuring 12 new cards. This quest features cards like “Groggy Gargoyle”, “The Nekbeerd” “Keg Mimic” “My Little Dungeon Slime” and “The Desolation of Grog”.

This one has been quite popular already… it’s 12 new cards that parody one of my favourite games of all time… let’s just call this one KEGA MAN 2! You’ll face off against Chug Man, Stool Man, Wench Girl, Fedora Man, Drunken Stupor Man and many others! For fans of retro gamers, more pictures to come!

Chuglox will be with your always, opening your bottles like a champ.

Everyone with a physical game tier gets a key chain bottle opener featuring the iconic CHUGLOX FACE. Chuglox will give you an approving look every time you open your beer.

Series creator Jason Anarchy will draw a funny doodle, thanking you for participating in the campaign and modify an extra card to play differently. This will use one of the old style cards so you can also use it for comparison purposes to see how far the series has come.

Your package will get some PERSONAL ATTENTION!

Never lose your way with this map rendered in MIGHTY CLOTH

You get a really stylized cloth map of the world of Drinking Quest (sometimes referred to as the DQniverse) It’s both funny and really cool looking. Very nerd-chic.
What have people been saying about Drinking Quest the last four years?

“Drinking Quest may be the best thing to happen to tabletop ever!”

— Substance TV

“DQ is like taking a liter of Jack, a deck of cards, a pen and paper RPG, some dice, with a Jameson chaser and hitting blend.”

— Geekcentricity

“If you’d like to get with your RPG-loving friends and spend some time getting a little bit sauced, you could certainly do worse than either Drinking Quest [The Original Drinking RPG] or its sequel, Drinking Quest 2: Yeddy Vedder’s Yeti Adventure.”

— Kotaku.com

“For all of its silliness, it holds a solid sense of refinement.”

— The Dread Gazebo

“This game appeals to my love of tabletop games, nerd culture, and my rampant alcoholism.”

— Troll in the Corner

Well that’s the initial overview of the projects. I plan on answering all of your questions and updating with new content regularly.

Instant bonuses, Stretch Goals and a game that will lead to some of the most epic game nights you’d ever had… Share this Kickstarter through social media or EVEN BETTER back one of these incredible tiers.

Cheers and Please Quest Responsibly :)
