It Puts the Lotion on Its Skin for Silicone Interior Designer

Okay, it’s hard to avoid the serial killer jokes, when faced with an art installation of chairs designed to feel like they are made of human skin. Most folks I know, who use lifelike silicone, employ it to mimic very specific body parts. (I mean, the penis, followed distantly by the vulva, because men never get the good sex toys.) Anyway, artist Gigi Baker has a photo from her art gallery show where kids are crawling all over her chairs and footstools. I totally get why something which feels like flesh could be comforting and comfy, but somehow I still jumped in discomfort seeing children at play there. The 9191 work of Gigi Baker also includes a castle table and an octopus lamp. So, there are a few more things for my economic recovery wishlist. I clearly need Gigi Baker to come do interior design for me.
