Someone gets stabbed and they get all freaked out cause, you know, they've been stabbed.
Punch someone in the mouth when they don't expect it and they usually spend a few seconds with a goofy look on their face. Half the comedy is the reaction.
it's all context... but usually punching someone in the mouth is funnier. people seem to lack a sense of humor around knives.
i know i do at any rate.
(for instance, if someone pulls a knife on me, i feel perfectly justifed in killing or maiming them. i'm funny that way.)
Stabbing.. cause of the delayed effect.
stabbing usually causes massive blood loss and then there's all the drama with medics and cops and etc etc. punching in the mouth, as it has fewer after effects, is funnier.
Then again it depends on who needs injured and why....

Punch in the mouth is way funnier. There's this whole social demotion, even amongst friends, that goes with it. you got punched in the mouth? you SUCK! no one really gets made fun of for getting stabbed. stabbing's funny sometimes, punching's funny every time. <3
hmm... i guess it all depends on what you're doing the stabbing WITH. when you have a knife, everyone is all like WHOA WHOA KNIFE WHOA but if it was something not normally considered a weapon, for instance saaay a seven-inch stiletto heel, it would be amazing (i have fantasized about this many times while at work). but yeah, the legal ramifications are usually much worse with stabbing. as for humor, i know i'd be laughing harder if i stabbed someone. i'd much rather just hit them with something. preferably a brick.
curb-stomping would be pretty funny too, i think.

Of course stabbing someone is infinietly funnier then a punch in the mouth. A punch in the mouth says "hey there! Stop!" a stab in the face says "WOO Yeah i'm crazy as shit!"

See, my theory was that if you sock someone that deserves it, it's just the start of a fight, maybe they fall down, big deal. Could be funny in some circumstances, but mostly they would involve the person saying something stupid first. (I'm talking about whife swapping...POW!) But, if you walk up and stab someone that deserves it, they make this 'WFT???' face, and that's just hilarious.
Of course it's always funny to stab some one with a spork...
see stabbing culd be funny, but only if it was with a strange object...Haha i've stabbed you in the eye with my drinking straw...funny...
