Cusack 'stalker' arrested in US
John Cusack
Cusack has said "celebrity is the worst thing that can happen to an actor"
A woman who was ordered to stay away from film star John Cusack has been arrested on suspicion of stalking and violating a restraining order.
Emily Leatherman was taken into custody on Sunday after Los Angeles police were called to Cusack's neighbourhood.
They had been alerted by a taxi driver, who reported that the 33-year-old did not have enough money to pay her fare.
According to police, Cusack then approached officers and told them that Ms Leatherman had been following him.
The actor obtained a restraining order against Ms Leatherman in 2006, which prevents her from coming within 500ft (152m) of the star, his home, workplace, car and offices.
'Rocks and screwdrivers'
Police arrested her to investigate claims of stalking, violating the restraining order and petty theft. She was being held on $150,000 (£75,000) bail.
Steve Whitmore, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department, said police had found evidence at the scene that led to the arrest, but declined to give further details.
He added that Ms Leatherman "is considered a transient in the Santa Monica area".
Cusack's application for the restraining order said that she had thrown letters "over my fence in bags with rocks and screwdrivers inside".
The actor said she also "threatens to commit acts of violence against herself if I do not help her".
Ms Leatherman has claimed she only sent Cusack two letters.
The actor, whose film credits include High Fidelity, Stand By Me and Being John Malkovich, was unavailable for comment about the arrest.

Yeah, probably.
Not with rocks and screwdrivers, though.

Yeah, standing outside his house with a boombox on 11 at all hours of the night is cool, but rocks and screwdrivers are fucked up.
Re: would you stalk John Cusack?
Good God. mmmm no but I'm sure you could work up one mindfuck of a screenplay on that original storyline.
OEC
Re: would you stalk John Cusack?
Covertly. Then you can't get a restraining order against you.
Re: would you stalk John Cusack?
Make sure you break into their phone box and use it to dial your number 100 times a day.
That way when the cops come you can say that no..they've been stalking YOU!
lol, a true story actually one of my law teachers told us.

The stalker rigs the phone so it looks like Cusack is stalking him/her. Unfortunately, this sets off an instant karma. Cusack replicates with every phone call. It becomes a world of John Cusacks. The stalker chases his/her own tail until becoming butter (as in Sambo) Stalking goes down 84% (although it may well end Cusack's career :1orglaugh :thumb: )
Re: would you stalk John Cusack?
I so would.. but I'm less clever. I'd leave those long rambling messages about how much I love him, alternately with screaming about how he never pays any attention to me. You know. Good old fashioned crazy female kind of stalking.
