What are your favorite comic strips and why?
I love the comic strip medium and own way too many dead tree versions of various strips.
I recently read the newest Dilbert and Get Fuzzy books. I think I enjoy Dilbert partly for the humor and partly for the way it makes me feel good about not having an office job. I think I enjoy Get Fuzzy partly for the humor and partly because I miss some things about having housemates. Or maybe because I want a dog.
How about you? What are your favorite comic strips and why?
Re: What are your favorite comic strips and why?
Dilbert: too close to the bone, I'm in IT. Have been for a decade and a half and am considering, strongly, getting a dilbert tattoo.
Bloom County: Steve Dallas rocks.
Doonesbury: cuttingly wonderful.
User Friendly: Dilbert for the IT set.
Lenore and JTHM: You guys know why.
XKCD: That stuff is funny as fuck.

At the moment, Nemi is my favourite comic strip. I used to read a lot of comics, but since we are "boycotting" our local comic shops (for barring one of our friends for no reason) I don't read them much now. Used to read 2000ad, Patrick the Wolf Boy and the DC Elseworld series, amongst others.

Re: What are your favorite comic strips and why?
RED MEAT FOR THE WIN
although this: http://monkeydyne.com/rmcs/dbcomic.phtml?rowid=53
used to have the first panel have Dan say something "and your little bud will begin to dew" which is FAR CREEPIER than what's there now. And out of character. Dan's more subtle.

OMFG, I LOVE User Friendly. When are they going to come out with a new dead tree edition?
Re: What are your favorite comic strips and why?
Not sure --- Illiad's a Vancouverite, just up the road... I should ask.
Re: What are your favorite comic strips and why?
Calvin and Hobbes. Calvin's such a little shit. Always good for a laugh.
Re: What are your favorite comic strips and why?
Cox & Forkum
Opus
Pearls Before Swine
bloom County
Re: What are your favorite comic strips and why?
Dilbert of course. My first day of programming class way back when they told me I wasn't a professional unless I was up on this one. It's more than close to the bone - it's a 100% factual documentary.
Wizard of Id was pretty good especially in the beginning which was actually before even I was even born. Satire much.
Andy Capp. That is a classic. Interesting style - lots of ruled straight lines.

I love Calvin and Hobbes, but JTHM is for the win for me. I also enjoy Penny Arcade.
