i would have to be some kind of a**hole.

so i've been bit-torrenting this film. the download speeds have been going up and down all over the place, sometimes dropping to zero for ten minutes or so. at one point there was only one seed, and it looked like i was going to be stuck at 98%. the damn thing finally finished; took two days (and for 700 meg, that's really poor performance).

so now, *i'm* the only seed left. and there's one other person in the torrent, and they're getting all of their download from me. they're at 38% right now.

i might quit when they get to 98%.

cant you view what you got? so far i havent fileswaped for a while but kazaa used to let you watch what you had so you could check for shaky camera and crying baby

oh and munching popcorn

although sometimes when a torrent dies it's possible to recover bits of the video, using something like Virtualdub. the recovered file looks *very* surreal, due to the way divx compression doesn't like being chopped into pieces.

as for crying babies.. i generally only torrent stuff that has been out for a few years. this reduces the number of "screeners" filmed in Pyongyang (sp?) over some Chinese Communist Party leader's shoulder.

So, what did you end up doing? Did you quit at 98%?
