Ai, that's one for the 'lessons you can only learn the hard way' thread, I think. I did much the same thing once with a plastic sheet of the kind used to cover piles of construction materials. Fortunately that time there was enough wind that we could just stand on the other side of the fire.
Adults were always saying 'don't burn plastic and rubber', but adults were also always saying 'don't burn stuff, period', so whose gonna pay attention to that kind of detail? Goes to reiterate the shortcomings of abstinence education, I guess.
