    Default Death thread

Here's a thread we can use to keep track of notable people who die. My contribution for today:

Thomas Forsberg, aka "Quorthon", the man behind the legendary band Bathory, died in his home in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 7 of heart failure at age 39.

If anybody isn't familiar with Bathory, I recommend checking out their first 4 albums. They are outstanding. Bathory, The Return, Under The Sign Of The Black Mark, and Blood Fire Death.

Heart failure? Is that journalist-speak for cocaine overdose? That is so young to die of heart failure. Sad either way.

I don't think so. Supposedly he's had a history of heart problems.

Yeah if you have the genetics for it you can have a heart attack in yout 20's and die suddenly without any warning. It happened to that one director a few years back...died suddenly while playing basketball. Heart Disease is a real bitch.

I believe that may be similiar with strokes, that you can have them at any age. Does anyone know if that has a genetic bearing, or is it primarily stress as far as is known these days.

Jeff Smith, aka "The Frugal Gourmet", has died at age 65.Story here. Anybody else used to like watching his show? I think it jumped the shark when he started having that prettyboy Craig on all the time.

His show jumped the shark when he was arrested for molesting Craig. My mom used to watch his show religiously.

A friend of my girlfriend died this week. He had Crohn's disease, but still did drugs and drank alcohol. She knew him online only, since he was Kansas based, but she knew him for years already. I kind of feel sorry for her, on the other hand, it doesn't bother me too much, because I actually don't care much about people. But seing my girlfriend suffer so much, makes me kind of sick. Life sucks :\

Julia Child, whose warbling, encouraging voice and able hands brought the intricacies of French cuisine to American home cooks through her television series and books, died in her sleep three days before what would have been her 92nd birthday.
"America has lost a true national treasure," Nicholas Latimer, director of publicity for Alfred A. Knopf publishing, said in a statement Friday. "She will be missed terribly."

The statement said she died Thursday at her home in Santa Barbara, California. The cause of death was not given.

    That woman could fucking cook!

Heart disease, clogged arteries, obesity, old age. She could cook, but it wasn't necessarily food that was good for you...
