on this note, I see a lot of these ad sites on here that seem like xploitation flicks to me.

ah shit.. what was the name of that one? with elisha cubert, that we discussed about how it seems really misogynistic.

I enjoy a slasher flick from time to time, but a lot of these new movies coming out just seem like violence for violence sake, and are pushing the envelop with a continuing theme of not only violence, but also coercing potential victims to inflict violence upon others as a reprieve, which kind of sends a sick message beyond just someone terror survival.

I guess really what I'm getting at is, obviously there must be some demographic and enough for you guys to host these ads...

are Blueblooders into this?

I think you have some valid points, but I'm not as squarely against violent entertainment. I have my own criteria for what I do and do not like to see. I don't personally like the torture porn stuff that has been the buzz the last few years, but dystopian future themes can be entertaining. I have a heavy suspicion that the wild cool folks in this one are not treated very well in the end, but I haven't seen it yet.

well, yeah. I wasn't really referring to this movie. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt based on the merits of The Descent, a pretty good horror flick.

Just this thread in general brought that to mind, and well, I was too lazy/unimaginative to make a new topic.
