Default The Cure for Loneliness

Quote:

Sometimes the internet can be very isolating. We sit at home and, in a way, we feel connected to so many people. But not very connected. It is overwhelming and difficult to deeply connect with anyone. Sometimes this causes us to to put in-person human interaction up on a pedestal and forget what it is really like.

Now, admittedly, I went to school in Belgium for a while and none of my classmates were like the angriest Belgian gamer ever, as depicted...

I find that people will be less likely to be amenable on the internet at times (I'm thinking specifically of people you know tangentially in real life). I see it as more a positive than a negative. It is absolutely vital given my areas of interest and projects. I also accept its limitations + abide by privacy laws passed in 2005 - forward. Moving forward, we simply need to be real about what it is and is not.

I'm a loner (sociable, know plenty of people) but a loner no less. Thus, it is kind of a neutral device in that regard.

Also note, to my incredible sadness, he's got that hot cleavage in his bedroom but would rather play with his "hammer of Justice" while his friend with the 70s headphones watches.

I can see the Scientology Celebrity Center (and the Hollywood sign) from my roof. As I have utterly failed to develop a problem with drugs or booze, it is just a matter of time in Los Angeles before I become a Scientologist.

the internet is.....

seriously, some people on the net just need to leave the room once in a while and go to a bar or just do something else. try to integrate into the real world a little.

theres one or two people i know that thier internet ego is bullish, insensative, a proper keyboard commando. But having met them outside the net thier quite the oposite, withdrawn and very quiet.

as to the German kid... i really cannot see the point in this kid lampooning himself. he's going to regret it in later life.
