Whacked - baked, sconed, skuntered, weeded out, stoned, muggled, hotted out, piped, coned out, bucketed, on the red-eye express, etc. etc. all euphamisms for "lickin Mary Jane's muff" hehe The thing is I was all of that when I posted and that pic is good to stare at

btw... I know that somewhere you asked if you can call me Hely. Course ya can gorgeous! I like it it's cute. I will resist the temptation to call you Orgy

Here's the male that I found in the female's nest WITH HER... but not "with her"

I JUST noticed that in the first pic, the MALE is assisting in devouring the cicada, he's at the bottom.

my biggest fear with spiders is scaring them in some way or other. i dont want to spook them and have them panic. most spiders only bite people in defense(we dont exactly look like food to them).

im afraid of getting bit by a spider, but nt afraid of them. i am fascinated by them - both in awe and reverence. i respect them. my main fear is that i shall somehow offend a spider, resulting in a bite or bad luck. seeing a spider is a good omen for me. killing or hurting one is sinful. i venerate a spider spirit spiritually, and have at times thought of them as my shamanic totem animal.

but still, i get the willies when one expectantly runs across my skin. afterwards i try to make sure it is uninjured and then watch it for awhile.

i revere most life forms. but i draw the line somewhere in the insect catagory. usually it has to do with how much of a pest they are. and how sentient they act(so-called 'social' insects are above the line). ants, especially the wood eating kind we get in my house, they die on sight. moths, may eat my clothes but are usually left alone or eaten by the cats. parasites i cant stand - im looking at you, mr tick and mosquito. lave my blood alone. its mine! all mine, mine mine! (i only share w those who ask.)

when my cats, the mighty hunters that they are, bring in a live animal, my policy is to catch and release them outside. usually rodents and the occasional snake. i use mostly glasses or other containers to trap them under. poor lil things are so scared. and often damaged. i have had to bury a few that didnt make it. and contemplated keeping a bone or too. but im not sure how keeping remains of once living creatures meshes with a reverence for nature/life. i think they are kool but creepy at the same time.

I really liked reading what you had to say....
I totally understand... there's a point where ...even a person's safety requires killing a bug or a rodent...

Where I live, its close to a creek, and a barn with horses... those horses eat grain....and grain attracts mice, and other unsavory bugs... that can potentially carry disease and other health hazards...

I DONT LIKE TO... but I will kill something if it means safety for my family.
BUT that doesnt mean that I dont respect their life...
I think you understand the fine line...

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE LINE " I ONLY SHARE WITH THOSE WHO ASK"!!!!!
    You rawk!

I took this pic of a grandaddy long leg spider with my cam corder... in about 2002 or something, before I got my camera...

Thank you VT, and Tigerlily. I am so glad that you can enjoy. I love spiders, and any bug or living thing, I'm partial to some more than others I'd rather capture them with my camera than in my hands lol

clearing out the second driveway the other day i spotted a harvestman spider with a difference. it was harvestman in body style, but had short banded legs a bit thicker than normal and body markings like that of a garden spiders abdomen.

very very odd. just a shame, once again, no camera at hand as i was digging not really looking.

wish i had though. never seen one like that before
