When was the first time you heard the term mullet? How did you find out about the term?

My dad had one for the longest time. My mom was making fun of him. I was very small, don't remember how small or when. Thing is he grew it out right before he bought his camero... (my parents are SO white trash!)

Actually she called it a D.A. When I asked what that ment she told me it was another word for mullet. (I was VERY small) Later I was enlightend that "Supposedly" D.A. stands for Duck's Ass. Still confused about that one.

I'm working on a theory about mullets. DA was a serious pompadour. The idea being that the way it was slicked back created a waterfowl tail in the back on some guys.

Are we talking like '81 or '89? Do we think the Beasties came up with the term?

I grew up with the term mullet as a fish...until recently i never knew it was a hair style...buisness in the front, party in the back!

I know the German word for Mullet, too. That's Vorkuhila, which is one of those weird German compound abbreviations. Stands for "vor kurz, hinter lang" ("front short, back long").
