What would you do if the internet crashed for good? Would you get used to life with less communication and less "being connected" or would you be pretty bummed for the rest of your life?

This is assuming it was not fixed. Perhaps some largescale EMP attack or something that crippled it for the next 50+ years or so.

At least we would get rid of bots.

    Interesting question though.

I think nothing short of a back-to-primitivism apocalyptic event would shut down the internet for more than a year or three, tops. EMP? Would require somebody to flip the restart switch and cost sites the two days of data since last backup. Complete physical destruction of all internet-able cabling would be fixed in under a year (bit more for outlying locations) while barely requiring us to increase the rates at which we're currently replacing and adding to them.

So yeah, apocalypse. I'd be hunting molerats for dinner with an improvised spear, I imagine.

If the internet crashed, they'd still be T.V. and books. Just like before the internet. If there was no more books or T.V., I'd probably find another way to waste my life. The options always seem endless when you're on a quest such as this.

Um... I'd have to go to adult book stores and look through magazines for later reference? Any other ways to look at porn for free?

If the internet went away, I'd be perfectly happy. But if it were an EMP and all electronics went away, that would be more of a drag.

Emp blast............there'd be bigger things on my mind to deal with then, of course the internet is run on fibre optics with lots of easily replaceable parts and people will always find a way to keep in touch with whats going on in the world anyway.

Find yourself a lover. Or two, three, whatever it takes if you're strictly voyeuristic - although I do recommend that you try participating at some point.

I'd be pretty fucked if that happened but I'd live on I suppose even though my job would cease to exist. I can seem to remember what it was like before internet... I used to buy catalogues and industry mags & stuff like that to keep up to date with music technology and the like.

If there was no way of getting electricity to plug in electrical musical instruments.... <SHUDDER> .... now that's a world I wouldn't want a child to be born into. Please let's not go back to the days of wandering accoustic minstrels and troubadors.

You know that human voice is the best instrument.

This would be fun. Rave for hours to the beatbox orchestra.

We would also see the mass suicides of chans and trolls across the world. That has to account for something.
