yeah the only promo i saw for it on dvd was during the saw 5 online dvd promos. i love odd musicals lol i practically screamed like a schoolgirl when i saw john waters as the flasher pervert in hairspray during the opening title "good morning baltimore"

That is... pretty fucking blatant, yes.

Not that that's such a horrible thing to do, just uncreative. Replicating other movies' plots is what mainstream film does; ironically, it's actually by far the most obvious when it's done with a specific new idea the first time. By the tenth, it'll be a genre standard, and even the few people that remain to object will be hard pressed to imagine it being any different.

i loved this movie, the songs tend to get stuck in my head. but i love this movie.

i have friends who are trying to dress up as characters for Halloween.
