Matthew Vaughn directed the excellent modern noir Layer Cake, which starred a pre-James Bond Daniel Craig as a drug dealer on the brink of retirement, and Matthew Vaughn both directed and co-wrote the modern-feeling-if-not-technically-present-day...

I saw the "red band" trailer of "hitgirl", who's a "superhero", in Kick-Ass. It was actually pretty good. She's an 11 year-old bad ass who has a mouth like a sailor..

Wasn't Superhero Movie suppose to be a spoof? I wouldn't consider it everyday guy as a superhero. Better example of that would probably by Mystery Men. Though, that movie probably wasn't much better. (I haven't actually watched Superhero Movie, so I don't really know.)

I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm a big fan of the comics it's based off of.

I agree that it was definitely supposed to be a spoof, but, in some sense, I think everything in this genre is a bit of a send-up. Only Superhero Movie was really really bad. Had it been hilarious, it would not have been bad. It wasn't hilarious.

I loved the movie. The music they played when they introduced Hit Girl was brilliant.
