LEGO Heavy Artillery Including Sniper Rifles

lego lee enfield sniper rifle jack streat streatyIt might have been noted before that I like a good LEGO Darth Vader or R2-D2 astromech droid, but never let it be said that I can’t appreciate present day LEGO architecture. Especially functional LEGO architecture.

Jack Streat has put a decade’s worth of LEGO collecting to good use. He builds LEGO block-firing guns. His creation based on the Lee Enfield sniper rifle has been receiving a lot of media attention, but it is by no means his only weapon of choice. HKs to Tommy guns, Jack Streat is on it. He doesn’t use glue and he won’t sell you one.

As a kid, I had a lot of LEGO and my one brother and I used to build these skyscraping LEGO towers all the way to the ceiling. Our buildings were never particularly beautiful or attractively designed. We moved a lot, so I think we missed the house beautiful training of our peers. But they were very ambitiously tall LEGO buildings.

While I was away at college, my family moved back to the United States, so I thought it would be convenient to pick up my massive LEGO collection and spend my time at school getting more artistically proficient at LEGO architecture. Only my parents had given away my LEGO without asking. Or so they claimed. So I went ahead and did my schoolwork and never learned how to make a LEGO Chewbacca.
