Seeing Double? We’ve Got Your Gun

The AF2011-A1 Double Barrel Pistol was created, ostensibly, to commemorate the legendary Colt 1911-A1 .45 caliber pistol on its 100th anniversary. It was not created because some gunsmiths using some snappy CAD software figured out that it was physically possible to build a functioning side-by-side double gunburger and therefore it had to be done.

Yes it was. The AF2011-A1 holds 16 rounds in two single columns magazines, and the creators claim that this beast will put two simultaneously fired shots into a target of the size of an orange at 15 yards, and a watermelon at 25. So this is a very sophisticated weapon for people with an unspeakable grudge against fruit.

There is no practical application for this technology, besides assassinating time lords. It is therefore a noisy, dangerous performance art prop and nothing more. If you can’t appreciate that, I am truly sorry.

side by side, side by side
