obligatory "I'm new" thread

So, I came across this from a webcomic I frequent, and it seems like a nice little community so I decided to join.
I go by various names on the internet, but most frequently I use Shuzuko, Shuzo, Calia Nissene, or just Calia. I'm 18 years old, just finished my first year of college, play too many video games, work at Gamestop to help fuel this addiction, and my wardrobe consists mostly of black jeans and tshirts with band logos or supposedly witty sayings. If I had more money (which I don't, because of college and the aforementioned video game addiction) I would be wearing pretty, frilly, Victorian goth outfits with cyberpunk and loligoth thrown in, with some corporate/mob goth for work. Alas, I am poor. So... yeah, black jeans and tshirts. Yay.
Also, I have tried my hand at making clothes, and have found that I am much better at designing them with pencil and paper than I am at realizing them through needle, thread and cloth. This goes for modifying pre-existing clothes as well. The best I can do is take seams in to fit my skinny boyish figure.
I'm an artist and musician along with my video gaming, and my goal is to become a concept designer for a (hopefully large and well-known) video game company. I'm a loser and a geek, pretty happy with my status, and have a wonderful long-time-best-friend-turned-boyfriend whom I have been dating happily for about eight months now.

welcome. what kind of video games are you into?

I'm a nerd. And fucking proud of it.

I know many people who juggle devil sticks while wearing a canvas kilt.

As for the games I play, well, I have an addictive personality and a lack of cash, so I tend to stay away from MMOs of all sorts, but anything else is game (that was a really bad, completely unintentional pun). I focus more on FPS, traditional RPGs, action-adventure, music games, and platforming games, though. Racing and sports are not so much my thing, though I do have to know a little about them because I have to sell them. My current games are Gears of War (getting ready for 2 this fall), Rock Band, and GTA IV (my boyfriend made me play it). I also have a secret weak spot for the Sims. I love building up my sims and then leaving them in the pool to watch them drown :D It helps me with my anger.

If any of you have XBL and want to play some Rock Band with me, I will show you what it means to PWN. I shred, I groove, I tear up the drums and I sing like honey, and I swear to jeebus I WILL find a way to do them all at once someday :p: Except right now I can't do vocals because I have a sinus infection, haha.
If you want to play something else with me as well, that's okay, although since I've been stuck on RB I've not practiced much in Halo, Gears or Rainbow Six, so you'll kick my ass XD

cool.. do you do alot pc gaming or are you more into console?.. im more into pc gaming then console..right now im playing alot of cod4, rb6:vegas 2, gears of war and c&c3 for the pc...i have gta4 for my ps3.. it pwns..i also have a wii..but no xbox 360..sigh.lol...the sims, eh? lol..so i guess you'll be getting ts3 when it comes out?..do you play any rts?

I suck at games... I tried to play Diablo 2 once and instead of killing some guys I ran away and they followed me! So I panicked and shut it off and haven't played again.

I am, however, a huge shark nerd :D We all of us here have our quirks

Doesn't Gamestop have some kind of employee discount? I was just hanging out with a friend of mine in Portland who is an area manager up there and I was surprised that he had to cut his hair normal to work there, so I guess I might be surprised on the employee discount thang too.
