I Won My First Photography Contest!!!!

This is a private message I sent to my friend upon him congratulating me on my win.


CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!!!!

Actually, if it weren't for you... and your encouragement... I wouldn't have even entered!!!

I was so bummed all week with pain, and insomnia... I was at such an emotional deficit ....I didn't feel like I had anything left to give....
OR the energy to choose an image from the many.... to have myself presented as vulnerable, subjected to other's opinion.

Then, I got your PM..
AND you're support helped me to look inward for the strength I needed to take that step forward.

You had no other motive other than true art appreciation to support me the way you did....
it even went beyond friendship....

You've been like a mirror, in more ways than one this week.... You've helped me see things about myself... and how I fit in humanity as well as what's special about my art, from an outside perspective.

I've always loved the pic of DB but I didnt have the support of my family members who's seen it...
They just turned up their nose... along with the bulk of the rest of my work.
Thank you for your unique perspectives about everything you've shared with me....
I feel very blessed to be able to call you my friend!

You all are SO sweet... I'm in awe that anyone responds the way I do over my images that I capture.... they're 99.9999999% organic, and candid.

I'm just thrilled that I get the opportunity to capture such events... in general.....

I hope i have a future in this... now that the digital cams are flooding the market... I'd like to find my niche.... and provide for my family in such a way...
BUT most of all l just like to just make ppl FEEL...


Of course money is needed to make the world go round. but thats not why I take the pics I take.

A smile, or a shock, or a jolt of emotion... is my greatest reward,
