...have we read the FAQ yet?
Re: Dark Artist Seeks Blue Bloods...
It appears we have not.
And applying Photoshop filters is NOT "painting".

Sorry about that... YES... a mistake of mine. But I was actually guided here, never heard of the sight (great one of course) and said it was fine by one of your members to post the same ad I posted with them. Oh, well... I rushed it. Live and learn. With my apologies...

So Biker... It's called "painterly" effect. I use Corel Painter, not PS Filters. I understand your critique though... To each his own.
My mistake with posting... It's off.
Re: Dark Artist Seeks Blue Bloods...
it appears that I can't delete it nor edit according the FAQ... So I'll leave it for the administrators to do so.
Thanks much...
Re: Dark Artist Seeks Blue Bloods...
Just don't call a digital manipulation a "painting". Unless paint is involved....

From my days in digital animation (2D): digitally colouring in the individual cels was always called "painting" as was creating backgrounds etc. with Wacom tablets. know that this is a hangover from the days where cels were actually painted with an actual brush and paint but I think that it is a useful and fair enough way of describing digital artistry in some cases. I didn't do much "painting" myself - I was a compositor which was termed "camera" - another hangover from when you used to use an actual rostrum camera to individually "shoot" each frame.
Re: Dark Artist Seeks Blue Bloods...
An inkjet printout of a digital manipulation is not in my mind a painting.

that's fair.
Re: Dark Artist Seeks Blue Bloods...
Sorry, that's one of my pet peeves.
I work really hard at trying to draw stuff that looks like what it is, and paint stuff that has the same shades and colours as life.
It takes time, observation, work, exposure to solvents.
Clicking on a Wacom pad and saying IM DONE somehow seems to rob the word of its meaning.

I usually prefer to skip to this step if there's any at hand.:food-smil
Re: Dark Artist Seeks Blue Bloods...
Per what Mindgames posted, I might have this thread removed, except Bikerpunk and helcyon brought up some interesting points, so I'm leaving it.
Also, I'm a big Rush fan.
