(yeah.. I was watching Gattaca..)
Personally I'd want to know, but only 6 months before it was due. Time enough to party, or kill a few people, but floating along in ignorance for most of life.

i'm not sure. I think there would be pros and cons to both knowing or not knowing. I guess it would depend on how one chose to look at it......

On this note - there's actually a site on the net that apparently does so. Obviously I haven't checked and unless you all want to wait around until 2075 I won't be able to be certain that it's correct but ...

I wouldn't want to know but according to deathclock I've got until 2032. I will be 56. I'm ok with that. Hopefully I will not be in diapers by then. That is one stage of life I am NOT looking forward to. Getting old really creeps me out.

Six feet and 250-260? I'm 5'11 and 240 or so... but I have dense bones and muscles from weightlifting and strength sports.

I was looking at it all nihilistic, like would I bother trying if I knew I was going to be dead, but I hadn't thought of the flipside. I think we might need to know the date we would be crippled by a cop's bullet or a barstool too though.

Well looking at it that way Amelia G my first job was palliative care, I've spent most of my working life making people comfortable while they die.
I think if I really truly knew the date I was going to pass on I probably wouldn't take more risks, I like to think I would spend the time telling the people in my life that I care about exactly how much they mean to me. Doing everything I could so that 10 - 20 - 50 years after I was gone they'd remember that someone loved them that much.
Interesting note - all I changed was my location and lost 4 years of my approximate life on DeathTimer
DT EDD = 24 January 2070 (If I was American it would be 3rd July 2066 btw)
DC EDD = Wednesday, August 15, 2063

One says 2011 one says 2035 I hope its in the middle. I don't want to live till 80. I didn't expect to live past 30 and now I'm almost 40. I guess ill assume I'm going to die in 3 years and have more fun and cash out my retirement now.

i lived with fear and death for years.... i survived... i was always waiting for the bullet, the IED, or some variation... we used to sit around and joke about death... my fear was to die slow...
now that i made it out alive and in one piece (well mostly... 8 or 9 crushed disks in my back, one torn disk, and apparently i fractured 2 vertebrae in the past and didn't know it) i have NO DESIRE WHATSOEVER to know when it's coming...
i guess i have "high risk behavior"... i smoke, ride a motorcycle All the time, and drink a little... but that can't be any riskier than nightly gun fights in Sadr City or Youssifiyah...
