Lyrical letters quiz

Q+A threads you can answer with Google, or that ask you to name your favorite cheese as if it's something to be proud of, do not float my boat. I prefer inflicting something on you that

a) makes you think, even if that's an alien concept
b) frustrates you when you find the answer was easy

So, all you have to do is name the song, from the first letter of each word in the lyrics. Name it and you get to post your own*..

so this is a short song (in the popular sense, i.e not a nursery rhyme or poem etc.) comprised of only 7 lines and 40 words that is reasonably well know??

that's the first verse and chorus. Famous for being performed acoustically on MTV, and covered acoustically by a band whom Amelia wrote an article about, but it's not an acoustic track.

okay, i have an idea of who the brit supergroup is, but no clue as to who the cover band is. give me a hint and tell me what genre it is... chances are i haven't seen the video. pm me.

The British supergroup are more likely to be found in a crime scene these days...
