Do you trust online IQ tests?
One on Facebook told me I hav 135 in IQ and then it recomended me for a Advanced test to make it more accurate since I got the high score.
And that advanced one told me I have IQ of 157. Now that would be nice if it's true but how valid is that test at all? I guess I should pay a visit to Mensa after all...
Did you ever visited Mensa? Are you a member? Do you know what IQ do you have and what is it? Did you got any results from a online IQ test and what?

Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
I was told when I was young that my I.Q. was 128. I took some online I.Q....Don't know which one, but I scored exactly a 128 again. I DO think online I.Q. tests are bias, though. One of my questions was about baseball. Well, what if you know nothing of the sport. How does that show intelligence?
Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
I got told that I have an IQ of 189 when I was in year 4, but the internet ones keep on giving me different answers.
And the baseball thing was probly an exercise in common sense. If it asked you something that you needed to know the answers for then it was unfair.
Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
It actually asked a baseball specific question. Something about a certain player. Like which one of these players never got to play in the world series. A multiple choice question and you had correctly pick the right player.

Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
No, that's common knowledge. You have many types of intelligence. Mathematical, social, logical etc....
Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
Online IQ tests don't work. They aren't structured quite right because you can skip questions and still get a rather high IQ and not do the WHOLE test. That and the evaluations of your team of shrinks is an important part of IQ... and ALOT of factors.
Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
But if you dont follow sports how are you supposed to answer a question that recquires intimate knowladge on a certain sport?
Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
In theory it's possible to devise a purely written test that gives a reasonably accurate figure, but in reality it doesn't happen on the Web - sites stick to things that are simple to program, and so end up being a raft of multi-choice questions. People also cheat, of course, either by ignoring time limits or going back to correct answers. As a result it's generally taken that the online tests (free or otherwise) only give a figure +/- 50. They're OK as a comparative bit of fun, but won't reflect a 1-on-1 examination. I've tested people many times and the accuracy of a test is more about interpreting the results than just counting up ticks in boxes. Your single 'IQ value' is a broad-spectrum composite of several factors, and many of them are easily contaminated by things like exam nerves, poor math skills, or even the time of day.
My response to being asked my IQ would usually be "can you explain why you feel you need to know?"
Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
A lot of times IQ tests are ranked in terms of how fast you can get through them. I think many of the online ones are formatted in this manner for an inflated score. I have never taken a certified test for fear of finding out I am brain dead or legally retarded... although I have taken an online one and scored relatively well. I don't trust them though, like I said they are mostly scored to inflate one's ego and to scam you to pay the extra dough to take the "expert" test.

Do you REALLY have an I.Q. of 189? I mean, genius level is 140 and above. 189 is like super-dooper genius level. Like prodigy level shit. Your parents should have chucked your ass on a piano when you were 3. By 6, you could have been playing concert halls and shit!
Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
i think his was about 140... and mine was meant to be about 130
yet i scored about 60 on an internet one xD
Re: Do you trust online IQ tests?
60? Hahaha! We need to get you a job cleaning garbage at McDonald's.

Some questions that was in the test:
Your building company is working on two sites - a house and a shop. The company employs three people - Sam the bricklayer, Monica the electrician and a plumber called Abdul. Only one employee works on each site at a time. All of the employees work on both sites at some point during the week. The bricklayer is the only one who works four days a week. Everyone takes Saturday and Sunday off. Abdul works for a different company on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. The shop is too far from the house for an employee to work at both sites on the same day. Sam only works on the house on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Monica takes four day long weekends.
What type of work can you get done on the house on Friday?
