I finally found a job for a LOT less money in NYC.
Not wanting to sleep on a sewer grate, and this being a depression, I'm taking it. It's a good company, great people. I can live with it.
So you won't hear from me for a week, as I cross mountain passes, try to survive the ineffable boredom of South Dakota, and try not to get railed in Illinois by homicidal drivers.
I leave first thing Monday AM.

No, not with all my belongings. I am towing a car and U-Hauling it. I wish I was going by bike, but the mountain passes are treacherous this time of year.

I have a parking spot and motorcycle garage space within 30 min of Manhattan for less than a grand a month. JC suits me fine.
Problem is, I don't know anyone. :(

About not knowing anyone... yes, I'm very familiar with that because I move a lot as well. Sometimes it's nice to be all anonymous and to have no one bothering you. Best is to go out clubbing and talking to random people that look at least somehow friendly. Ask for advices and such and maybe for tour around the city clubs. At least one of ten should work out.

I've found that getting involved in activities you enjoy to be the best way to meet people in this city.
Taking classes, meetup.com that kind of thing. takes a minute, but fuckin' whatever.
