Died Friday in his home at the age of 83, following a battle with cancer.
For the youngsters who know him mostly as a purveyor of salad dressing, the Newman's Own brands have announced they will carry on their fundraising - over $250 million in the past 25 years. For the rest of us, he was a damn good actor, a scarily-enthusiastic race driver, and will be sorely missed.

He was in a few of my favorite movies. He will be missed but I don't think anyone can say the man did not make a good run of it. Had some good times and gave a little back. (Ok gave a lot back.)
