What improvement are you planning for your living situation?
I'll start. I've been working on bit-by-bit becoming more organized and getting rid of stuff I don't use and replacing stuff which is broken and held together with chewing gum and baling wire.
Keeping my job.....
Same as Amelia and Ajax. I've set up the drums, miked them, now adding in the easels to do the various paintings and drawings
Re-doing our carpet with hardwood. Turning the extra room into a music studio/game room. Building a deck (finally!) and bury our cable line..seeing as the cable company is 5 months late doing so...
Just trying ot find enough work so that i can get my own place, and then hopefully see my son sometime in the near future.
i found a really cool antique dresser at a thrift store but some dummy went and painted it white so my plan is to sand it all down to wood finish and stain it.
i also my walls are bretty bare so i need to work on covering them up. just low on funds right now though
Once winter hits hard, I plan to make it to the end of the garden and fix the fence. Right now there's 8ft of green hell in the way. The hole is a problem as it lets the sheep in. The sheep ate my herbs.
Indoors I'm uber-minimalist, so unless something blows up or falls over I just pad about ignoring it. Although I've been camped out here for 5 years now, I never think of a house as "home", so don't have any great urge to make a mark on it.
(I'm gonna have to make a T-shirt saying "The Sheep ate my herbs". Dunno why but it seems it has to be done.)
well right now i'm trying to clean up some shit and organise... especially the computer and bedroom areas.
just. clean it.
having money wouldn't hurt so i could find a bigger place, and eventually be able to take care of my little brother.
maybe have a life...
I bought two brand new toilets from lowes and I helped hang crown moulding in our bedroom on my last day off. this week we're installing toilets(glamourous, I know), and I'm going to get new fixtures and fittings. I hope we have time to tile both bathrooms too, but I doubt it.
my home situation. its fucked up... i'm looking after my mother who's been taken sick with one of the family curses (i just got to make sure i do not go the same way!), my time of work is spent doing things and running errands she cant. My dad is a caring person but just a bit chocolate teapot when it comes to domestic chores.
in work... i'm due to be redeployed. which department i dont know, but the poles will not be as greasy wherever it is. i'm just spending time to make sure that my SAP profile in work is upto date with my qualifications.
Since the first full day I've been here in Portland I've been carving a living space out of the Dungeon of Debris here in the basement. Our room was first, the furniture was rearranged the walls floors and ceiling were absolved of all the dust and smoke damage. a few dozen spiders were casualties. the heavy velvet was hung across the concrete wall and the light velvet was hung in layers over the wall we share with our roomie.
the bathroom was next. it wasn't like it was Defiled, more just Neglected. it took hours.
the other day i uprooted the forest of crap from around Tim's bedroom door, the hallway and the passage under the stairs.
Tomorrow begins work on "That Room". Capitalisation is warranted. the main room of the basement here has ... what's the best way to describe the closed off main room? Living Room v. Landfill: Landfill - 1 : Living Room - negative 3.
Years of accumulated boxes, storage, cast offs etc, have just been dumped into this room with no kind of plan or order or design. it's all just kinda piled in the centre of the room.
Wish us luck. If i don't post again this week, send a search party.

I want to add a few more work tables, and organize my experiments to my tiny room.
i love the chocolate teapot description. its a very clean and polite term in differance to some i've heard, it should be used more :thumb:Quote:

Two weeks ago I cleaned up a year's worth of mess in my room, and bought a bunch of paneled boxes to sort all my small crafting material stuffs into.
Currently I'm working out how to make the mess look just as big as before using only tools, food wrappings, dirty dishes and clothing. Doing a good job for it, too - I think I'll have it back to the old in another week or so.

This is true. I just moved, and my living room has exactly none.
this week its recess lighting throughout the house.....
If I could get a loan i could get house.... way things are that isnt likily to happen...
Move!!! My lease is up in January and I (we) can't wait to get out of the POS we live in!
