What does your morning routine involve?

Mine varies over time, depending on what I am doing and if I am traveling, but here is my current not on-the-road routine:

Take out plastic which keeps me from grinding my teeth.
Splash water on face.
Brush tooth plastic and teeth.
Put on bra under T-shirt.
Grind mix of half decaf and half caffeinated coffee beans.
Make espresso doubleshot.
Pour espresso in big plastic cup, followed by unsweetened soy milk, followed by ice and a straw.
Caffeinate.
Check stickies on my monitor for important to-do items for day.
Check various web accounts.
Make some sort of moderately protein-having breakfast.

Roll out of bed
Trip over drums
scratch genitals
throw on happy face pyjama bottoms
piddle
Shower, exfoliate, moisturize. Watch roommates look sideways at gay routine.
make espresso with cinnamon and chocolate
Eat healthy breakfast
go upstairs put on suit and tie that was laid out yesterday
Stare in mirror and smile at it. TAKE ON THE DAY

Checking ******* games
checking email for job leads
jerk off for 20 minutes every hour on the hour. When i have nothing to do.

I believe in taking care of myself and a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine. In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

wake up, curse having to wake up so damn early, stumble around apt. trying to get my shit together, crank up some tunes, shower, make-up, hair, coffee, smoke, feed cat, wait ouside for my ride, work.

lay in bed for a few minutes wondering why the hell i should get up
realise i have to pee
pee
throw whatever clothes on i can find
smoke
get coffee
check various internet things
take meds

on my day off:
drag myself out of bed, two bowls match green tea, quick shower, throw some clothes on, followed by whatever the hell I feel like doing.

if I have to work:
drag myself out of bed, two bowls matcha green tea, long bath consisting of lots of shaving scrubbing and pumicing, quick rinse off shower, wash hair or just get it wet (depending), coconut oil on body, eat something, check dance bag, call cab, run out the door to go to the club.

Generally wake up too suddenly.
Realize I'm late for work, no matter what time or day it is.
Sit down to work and immediately forget what was so important.
Make two cups of coffee and consume them.
Check the world news feeds.
Shower, brush teeth, etc.
Tend to my little intarwebs garden of sites and communities.

Tuesdays:
Wake to the sound of the garbage truck. Realize I forgot it was Tuesday again. Run downstairs, open door, throw out trash. Close door, ponder if I should've stopped to put on pants. Return to bed.

Other days:
Wake to the sound of Homer Simpson (Simpson's themed Windows sounds). Make coffee, return to bed while brain engages. Answer said email. Get up, shower, cook breakfast (bacon, eggs, sausage, toast, more coffee, and one lone vitamin pill just in case it helps). Regret sending that email.

poke the sleeping Dave who is snoring in my ear.
roll over and try to go back to sleep
discover the taste of death in my mouth
discover i have to pee
curse the cold and run into a few things while looking for my bathrobe.
piddle
brush my teeth
take allergy pills, painkillers for my shoulder (usually)
stumble back into bed, try to go back to sleep
hear Tim thud up the stairs (the kid is a like a lethal Q*Bert) and back down again, start playing loud music.
watch Dave get out of bed and get dressed.
decide i need to get up any way, not that i can get back to sleep, lay in bed for a little while longer waiting for the meds to kick in
get up, sip coffee that Dave has brought down stairs for me, the darling
find clothes, try to get dressed while being molested
grab my computer and head for Tim's room just in time to hear the knock on the wall saying there's internet and such waiting for me if i want it.
and by then i'm sunk deep into the current of the internet tide and forget everything else.

notice i did not add "smoke that first cigarette" to the "wait for meds to kick in" step. I quit last week.

ponder getting up to get into work at 7 (the joys of flexible working hours) when my cellphone bekons, the 5:30 am alarm
(if i go back to sleep wake up to the clockwork alarm clock, if not, neuter it before it wakes the house up)
put on dressing gown to let the dogs out of the kennel and promptly get mugged by my two dogs.
shower.
shave
get dressed
put food down for the dogs
Brew a cup of tea, usualy Earl Grey at that time of the morning for the mild cafine hit
look for my ID, ipod, and car keys
go to work
key in
drink more tea (redbush usually)

i dont usually eat in the morning, my stomach sometimes doesnt feel upto the job for a few hours

During the work week:

Awake to my alarm clock while I mumble "fuck".
Go to the lavatory
Have a cigarette
Jump in the shower and try not to slip and crack my skull since I'm still half asleep
Dry off
Have another cigarette
Brush my teeth
Have another cigarette
Gently wake my son saying stuff like, "Good Morning. Rise and shine. It's a new day." After several attempts at this and him just rolling back over to sleep, I usually just wind up yelling, "Get up! I don't have time for this crap!"
Walk into my other bathroom my wife is using and give her a morning smooch.
Go back to my bathroom and do all the rest of my hygiene crap.
Get my son to brush his teeth, get dressed and brush his hair.
Kiss my wife and son goodbye as they go to work and school.
Get dressed into my monkey suit.
Hop in the car and drive to work.
Right before I walk into work I say to myself, "It's gonna be a good day. It's gonna be a good day."
Within five minutes of being in the door, I already know the day's gonna suck.
So much for my morning mantra.

getup, take wizz,get dressed,hop in van,start driving to work, wake up

For the first time in my life I actually feel calm. The Drama and Stress levels in our new residence here in Portland are so non existent I no longer need to smoke to keep from killing people. So I quit. (I'm also broke, which helps.)
