Should stem cell research be allowed?

Michigan Proposition 2: Allow Stem Cell Research looks likely to pass right now with 24% of precincts reporting.

I sort of thought stem cell research was against Federal law. Does anyone know the details on this?

The again, marijuana is apparently against Federal law, but you can't tell in my home state of California and Michigan Proposition 1: Allow Medical Marijuana looks likely to pass with an overwhelming majority.

I think it should be allowed. A zygote or even a tiny embryo is not a person. It has no feelings. It does not suffer from its destruction.

I'm on the fence about it and leaning more towards the no side, but I'm back and forth about it. it would take a long time to explain it. something about it creeps me out.

Are you on the fence because it's to close to abortion for you, or is it something else?

I think if it can help people I think it's worth the research.

maybe that's what it is, I'm not sure. something about it leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. it seems wrong to me. like there should be another way.

as far as stem cell goes...I also find it somewhat creepy ,but I am not against it.put it this way if you could give your own tissue to save thousands ,would you? if you knew it would help save others from disease and suffering etc..
