If a close friend axe-murdered someone, how would you respond? Would you report them? Would you actively help them keep the deed a secret? How would you feel and what factors would you take into account?

If?
OK Amelia, we aren't going to judge you. just tell us what you have done and we will come over with some heavy duty trashbags and bleach...
Again.
I had an Axe murderer at my 21st birthday party. Guy I used to be friends will from a local #IRC chan admitted to me that he had killed a guy with an axe when he was 14 in a screwed up weed deal in the woods and he'd been acquitted for some reason.
I kinda liked the idea of being friends with an Axe Murderer unfortunately he turned out to be kinda douchy.
I just tried googling him to see if I could dig up any info on his story but I guess if it was a crime as a minor there wouldnt be.
What are you talking about? I was the one holding the.... wait, I PLEAD THE 5TH! No more questions.
I WOULD NOT SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE I KNOW MY FRIENDS WOULD NOT SAY ANYTHING. R..right guys? (kicks hatchet under the bed)
But man..that's a hard question. I'd encourage them to turn themselves in for their own good, the good of the slain's family. If they did it in self defense then..even better get into court now before you look even shadier.
If they refused...well I don't know. My good side says that I'd have to turn them in for the good of the law and my human side says thats my best friend/girlfriend whatever and i should not do that to them.
if it was well deserved i would help them... again
Report. No. Help? I would find a way to invoke privilege depending on my status at the time. If they victimized someone I knew, that would change things.
OEC
It all have to do with the situation.
Id buy them dinner and have a good laugh.
well I'd have to hear the who where when why first before I lent them an axe
And you're wondering why guys are scared of you.:1orglaughQuote:

I've always wondered about this. It depends heavily on the circumstances. If it was something like an act of rage at the moment, I defiantly wouldn't help them and would probably turn them in. If the person really deserved it...I probably wouldn't give two shits.
