Drunk Pilot: "I won't even touch the controls, I promise"
Passengers refuse to let drunk pilot fly - smh
If I was flying Aeroflot I'd be nervous if the pilot wasn't drunk :D
"It took him three tries to say the words 'duration of flight'" one passenger said.
The pilot initially tried to deny he was blotto but "I don't think there's anyone in Russia who doesn't know what a drunk person looks like," said someone from Russia who would know.
Re: Drunk Pilot: "I won't even touch the controls, I promise"
Truthfully I can say this in all confidence since I have been an aircraft mechanic now for 12 years....
The pilots of most comercial airlines these days DO NOT even touch the controls at all!
The flight computer handles everything from take-off to landing. The pilot like you is read time magazine or trying to get it on with the flight attendant.
The pilot/s are only there now a days as a form of emergency back-up in the event the flight computer.auotpilot fails.
Nothing makes me more happen when the autopilot is BROKEN and I do not have a replacement and I have to tell the flyboys that they have to WORK for their pay today and touch some controls! They whine like a bunch of spoiled prep school girls everytime! LMAO
Re: Drunk Pilot: "I won't even touch the controls, I promise"
Obviously they have to be :D
Re: Drunk Pilot: "I won't even touch the controls, I promise"
I don't know about commercial aircraft, but the only reason the army really needs pilots now are to take off and land. Automatic Flight Controls take care of everything at this point. It's scary when the shit breaks and they have to fly for real. There's a reason for the multiple systems that do basically the same thing, otherwise all the birds would be giant lawndarts. Wait, they already are.

Yes most take offs and landing are both automated.
If the general public knew WTF was happening in the flight deck (formerly called a cock pit) they would shit bricks.
Re: Drunk Pilot: "I won't even touch the controls, I promise"
if passengers can't board drunk than neither should the flight crew
Re: Drunk Pilot: "I won't even touch the controls, I promise"
