New art series: Legends of Jazz

People who've seen my previous art have seen carefully executed classical things done over months.

Damn it, I want some stuff to look at now.

Wanting also to step totally out of my comfort level, I did no underdrawing, chose bright, insane colors and simply applied the paint and went from there.

Working totally without a net, I did these two portraits.

The first one looks like Miles Davis.

Well, that's good. Cause that's who it's supposed to be. :)

Wow! the flame work on that bass is fantastic. I love the Miles Davis piece, but the lady looks like she could use some smoothing around the middle of her face. I love the style of both tho, really energetic.
