I'm reading this and wondering what the "catch" is.
The catch is that most of the women I know are waaaaaaaay more down for random casual sex and most of the guys I know would like to settle down with a monogamous trustworthy partner and perhaps start a family. So I'm not sure this is peculiar to Australia, but men don't seem to like it much and it sucks for women once they get a little older and/or decide they want a family.

the catch is that guys who can't make a good first impression with what really matters could end up getting weeded out of the gene pool
