Hi, I'm new.
I just joined on Friday, then ran off to Portland to vend at Vampire's Masquerade Ball (which was really fun) so I'm a little late with the introducing.
My name's Miranda Luna ("Hi, Miranda") and I'm a writer. Just to pimp myself a bit, my first novel came out last month and it's called "In the Blood." My website is mirandaluna dot com if you're interested in tracking down a copy.
I remember reading Blue Blood in print and now I read it on here, and I still love it. Figured I'd add myself to the message boards and be sociable.
Nice to meet you all.

Re: Hi, I'm new.
Welcome... and again, hope to see you at a Portland event sometime!
Ooh, and a fellow writer... bonus! I've had a short story or three published in various odd literary mags, but no novels published yet, though my first dark fantasy manuscript is fast approaching completion.
"I didn't want to make my vampires the Anne Rice tragic heroes; I wanted to make them actual monsters."
Endless kudos! Anne Rice, Laurel K. Hamilton, "Twilight," White Wolf: they and so many others have forgotten why we fell in love with vampires in the first place. We fell in love with them because they were dark, mysterious, and above all, dangerous! When you take away those elements, all you're left with is a D-grade soap opera. Hell, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" made vamps scarier than some of these hacks both before and since.
I hope to have the opportunity to read "In the Blood" from cover-to-cover at some point in the near future. Meanwhile, welcome to Blue Blood!

Re: Hi, I'm new.
Welcome. I don't read, but if I did, I'd totally read your book.
