I was jsut thinkin about this cus me and a friend were talkin about hwo we've never been to raves and how i probably wouldnt enjoy it myself being as it looks like alot of dancing and i prefer to lounge and take in the atmosphere.
there used to eb this one club me and my old amrine buddy would go to in jacksonville called club5 that wa sperfect for it cus it had this huge lounging section with over sized leather couches and nice glass tables and oyu could just chill and take inthe music and the people.
so....are you more inclined to dancing or lounging?

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
Depends on a few factors. One, my level of drunkeness. The other factor is who I'm with. If I'm with my partying friends that like to get onto the floor and dance then I'll end up on the dance floor for part of the night, or if I'm by myself and see a hot chick dancing a lot I'll drag myself out there to try to meet her.
For the most part though, I like to chill and watch everyone else dance.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I don't really like dance clubs. I like dive bars with decent jukeboxes way better. Otherwise I like live music in smallish venues. Dance clubs are kind of for business more than they are for fun to me.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
Off stage I'm proud to say I have never danced in public, and never intend to. On occasion a toe may tap, imperceptibly, but that's it.
I have been known to lounge, and indeed to lounge louchely, but most of the time I just people-watch from the end of the bar.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
Haven't done the club thing in years. At the time though, it all depended if I was trying to get laid or not.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
It depends what type of bar I'm at. There's one place I go all the time and I'm usually dancing. Most of the other bars I go to are more like pubs and I'm usually eating.
A great place I used to frequent had a great Sunday night ritual. We'd watch The Simpsons at 8, some crap show, X-files at 9 and then open jam for the rest of the night. It was like hanging out in someone's living room. Ohh, those were the days...

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
If I'm going to a club for live music, I like to watch the performance. If I'm going to a club with a group of friends its a combination of socalizing and dancing.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
Oh, if it's live music, I'm in a pit, but I only go to metal shows anyway. The bad part about bars around military posts is they're almost all clubs. There's only a few real bars where there's no room for a dance floor anyway. But most of my friends like to go to one of three bars, and two of them are country, so there's always dancing.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I'm usually the main attraction. Seriously.
-
Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
If you want to consider being pointed and laughed at as the main attraction, I'm sure you are. :-P
-
Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I only dance if there is catchy j-pop music blaring, flashing arrows on a projection or tv in front of me and arrows below.
Anything else and I make orphans cry with how disturbing it is.

You have no idea Nathan :)

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
Pft, no one cuts a rug quite like me...
*does Cabbage Patch, then the lawnmower, then shopping cart, and finishes off with the sprinkler*
Yeah!

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I prefer to get a blowjob in a dark alley. But that ain't happening.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
Depends what drugs I'm on. Usually it's more lounging, sociallising and playing eyecandy though; club events are generally only our pre-party, so I try not to wear myself out too quickly there.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
At first i concentrate on getting some drinks in and saying hi to people.
Then i pretty much dance the night away or until someone throws me over their shoulder telling me time to close.
-
Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
Oh the whole point of going out for me is to dance! A good night would be at least three hours of dancing- preferably more, closing down the club is great. I try to go to the clubs at least 2-3times a month- which is in addition to the daily hour of dancing done during the week. Did I mention I love to dance?

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I always wake up next day with stronger pain in my muscles than in my head :)
-
Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
The club is mainly just siting back and hoping you don't get thrown out like an Olympic javelin.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
nice bowie reference btw.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
2 things in response, if the music is good I will dance naturally..
if I am on some class a's will will dance no matter what :p

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
If there's music playing , and it doesn't even have to be good music, I'm dancing. Even when I'm in pain and/or probably shouldn't be dancing, I'll waltz down the aisle in the grocery store.
Ah, Raves. Back in the good ol' days when I could afford to do that and what you got was MDMA not something "like it" (lemme tell you, visuals are really unnerving when you're not expecting them) I would dance till the floaty feeling wore off and then since I couldn't sleep, I'd clean something (I got mega busted for vacuuming at 4 am once). Not something I ever thought of as a "Lounging" atmosphere though.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I love dancing, especially when there are cages and poles around :)
It depends on my mood and who I'm with but more often than not I'll be out dancing instead of sitting at the bar.
-
Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
Love to dance, used to dance, but age is making me lounge more.
-
Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I can't help but dance to certain songs when I'm at clubs, but I'm a Goth/Industrial connoisseur; Skinny Puppy lures me from the darkest corners to the middle of the floor.
As dancing goes though, I'm usually strictly ballroom. I waltz, tango, mamba, lambada, cha-cha, swing, marengue, etc... and performing such dances in clubs is nigh-impossible. Therefore, most of my typical club activities include drinking, lounging (since dancing with a drink in-hand is also fairly impossible), and trysting in darkened corners.

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I'm kinda bummed. No clubs for me this weekend and I won't be able to do the wonderful workshops with Mira Betz that are going on locally this weekend...but I will be running around Disneyland like a maniac. That'll be fun!

Re: do you dance or lounge at clubs?
I used to dance, hell I used to get paid to dance at clubs, but I'm getting lazier as I get older.
Why cant I be an Eternul Vampyre and dance that dance macabre forevor?!?
and I know every single song that the dj is going to play, and in what order, at every club in San Diego, so that takes some of the fun out of it.
