Do you live more in past, present, or future?
Some people spend most of their time contemplating past pleasures, past loves, past accomplishments. Some people take no gratification in the present because they are working towards some future goal. Some people have no nostalgia and no planning and only consider the moment. Do you live more in past, present, or future? What prioritization of past, present, and future do you think is ideal?
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
The past.
I was young and beautiful then.
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
"Now is the only thing that's real."
"There were never any good old days / They are today, they are tomorrow / It's a stupid thing we say / Cursing tomorrow with sorrow"
"Nostalgia is just the past without the pain"
Those quotes & lyrics about sum up my thoughts on the subject.
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
"If we forget the past, history will repeat itself."
That's not just true in current events, but also in our lives so, yes, we need to remember the past. That's how we don't make the same mistakes twice or at least try not to.
I think it really needs to be 33.3% of each.
The past, just so we can learn from it.
The present, so we can enjoy what we have in front of us at this moment.
The future, because there needs to be some preparation for it.
The truth, though, is I don't think there's a single person who can honestly say 33.3% is exactly how they work it.
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
all three are pretty important to me..................the things I'm working on now were started over twenty years ago and should keep me busy for most of my life
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
There's a Monster Magnet song with a line like "Don't worry about the future, forget about the past". I hold that true for the most part. The majority of the time I worry about the now, but with that I still plan for my future here and there and have those memories that keep me from doing a lot of the stupid shit I use to do.
It's probably 50% present 23% past, 23% future, and 4% space.
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
i live in the exact moment and worry about 10 years from now. heh.
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
Hmmm, I probably live too much in the moment.
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
past, present, perfect. mostly the past for me, with a good amount of the present for good measure. to quote the band Fear of God, "Yesterday is dead and gone/Tomorrow is out of sight."
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
I think this whole question is REALLY based upon your age. When I was 25, I thought about the past, lived in the present, could give a shit about the future. The older you get, the more the future becomes relative....And truthfully, that's how it should be. To think that some other 25 year old is soooooo worried about the future saddens me, actually. The future will come...It's a definite...But for now...Live life!
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
We all live in our past because our actions in the past is what got us exactly where we are now. But still we can plan our future with various goals and live for them. That way we'll be one step ahead of us, read "living in the future".
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
a Bit of all,..
Quite a Lot in the Past,
~ Memories are that which You carry that Always remain,..
Present - because One Exists in That moment,..
Future ~ Because One Always is Aware there are Things yet to Do
or Need to Be done.
Re: Do you live more in past, present, or future?
The past or future is nothing more than "what if" I do try to think on the present, a little into future i have power to change and play it out some way
