For the ladies: what are your favorite remedies for cramps?
Sex. It relaxes the muscles and helps you feel better
But if that's not possible, a nice hot bath usually helps
Oh I see...so guys cannot have cramps.Quote:

Advil, lots of water, heat, and relaxation.
1 advil
1 cup coffee
1 pocket rocket session
1 hot shower/bath
Veg on couch and eat potato chips till your brain is so numb you don't notice them any more.
*whew* threads like this make me thank the Gods above and below that I don't have cramps, like, ever.
Oh my god! Did I just say that? "Like"!!?! I'm officially a valley girl. It's now legal to bitch slap me without warning.
K
*bitch slaps without warning* Don't worry, you can do it to me at any given time. True to stereotypical teenage form, I say "like" fairly often.
My favourite remedy is curling up in the bath with a book, or pretending I'm not feeling anything. A lot of the time it's mental, too. I might have to be put on the pill or something though, to stop the pain.
<Quoting Al Bundy> "Next time, stretch before you ovulate."
I use Nudemuse's method. Growling at people is effective for me.
I've mentioned it numerous times on different threads, Percocets!!! Am I getting redundant? lol
this is an awesome topic, for i was just suffering with cramps a few days ago... i dont have any good remedies, i guess pain killers but im allergic to anything other than over the counter crap that doesnt work. i just take the burn and be happy that this period i had cramps rather than migraines.
Try massaging the area with ice for no more than ten minutes or until the area is bright red, which indicates that blood cells have returned to heat the cramped muscle. If ice is too uncomfortable, try heat. Heat improves superficial blood circulation and makes muscles more flexible, so some people find that heat is more soothing for muscle cramps than ice. Try a heating pad for 20 minutes at a time or even a warm shower or bath. Make sure to massage the muscle with your hands following ice or heat.
Sincerely Dr. Kill
sex works. i'm never in the mood when i'm hurting like that, but if i get coaxed into it then it makes the pain go away.
I pop midols, which work pretty well for me.
If it's really bad I find that smoking a joint is really relaxing and melts the pain away. Also I have this wicked heating pad that also works really well.
A week at the Marriott at the bar downstairs - when all else fails.Quote:

I got this natural remedy from a site:
"Combine four drops of clary sage oil with two teaspoons of a carrier oil, such as almond, and use to massage the lower abdomen, directly above the pubic hair line."
I hardly ever get them, but I had them today.... Not really that bad. I am drinking some hot tea with milk. It's not really bad enough to take any aspirin or Tylenol, I just feel sort of drained.... I feel as if all the blood has been drained from my body.... Of course, it HAS been...Having a period is so strange.
Naproxen (alleve). Tons of it, unless I can find something stronger... Potassium is supposed to alleviate cramps also. Try eating lots of banannas.
I always make sure the ibuprofen is stocked up in my house
