did losing idol help or hurt lambert?
i thought i'd ask as stuff about lambert on her ekinda died down after the finale. well, anyways, as the topic says, did not winning idol really hinder lamber tor did it help him in a way? I ask this because, let's face it, aside fomr kelly clarkson and taylor swift, there hasnt been much success if any for idol winners and i think that's mainly because they couldnt find a way to distance themself form the american idol stigma set on them and find their own style of music.
heck, half the two runners up from the first season even have criminal records now.
so do you think this might be a blessing in disguise for adam? not having to live up to the title of american idol and being able to go do his own thing?
Re: did losing idol help or hurt lambert?
He'll still get record contracts. I don't think it'll hurt him at all.
Re: did losing idol help or hurt lambert?
i take it he lost, yes? who won?
Re: did losing idol help or hurt lambert?
Simon Fuller of 19E and CKX said before the finale that they were going to exercise their option on both Adam Lambert and Kris Allen, and possibly one or two other top ten contestants, no matter who won American Idol.
We can def hope that they will feel less compelled to compel Adam Lambert to make a really Idolish album under the circumstances, but . . .
Re: did losing idol help or hurt lambert?
I hate that he didn't win. :(
Re: did losing idol help or hurt lambert?
I think it definitely helped him. It's not so much important to win Idol, as it is to be an Idol finalist. You still get all the same publicity and what it really comes down to is that maybe you will sell a million records instead of the 2 million that the winner does. Or maybe you will sell more than the other guy. people who vote and people who buy records don't automatically follow the same numbers.
Also the Idol winner pretty much has to sell their soul to the producers on the show.
