I think that the Brach's candy corn is okay, but I've liked the candy corn that Goelitz (Jelly Belly) makes. Very creamy in texture and buttery in taste, but very hard to find in the stores.
Last week I was eating some of the Brach's candy corn and one of my cats came over to see what I was eating. I held out a piece of candy corn for him to sniff. Once he sniffed it, he immediately backed away from it, ears folded back, then turned and ran out of the room.

My guess is some brands have a food coloring to which you may be averse. I like it, but I'm mainly in it for the sugar rush when I do partake:1orglaugh:thumb:

Candy corn is yummy, its kind of addicting, I start eating some and before I know it I ate too much and I feel sick.

What's funny about that video is that, yes, it's an exaggeration, but my friend's dad used to work in a factory that made nothing but candy corn, and it sits for EVER before you ever see it at home.

Re: Why does Candy Corn not taste better?
I'm under the impression that, despite what the manufacturers may tell us, all Candy Corn was made in the same year back in the 70's, and ever since it has sat in a huge pile on the floor of a warehouse somewhere waiting for Halloween. Then it gets swept up, sealed in bags, and distributed to our mouths.
It would explain both the questionable texture and taste.

I think they make candy corn in the same factory that they make fruit cakes.

okay i'll concede Candied Yams... but they're a naturally sweet root, not so much the same can be said about corn, spinach, onions, brussel sprouts, somehow I can't see putting honey on any of the above let alone making candy out of it.
