I'm a network analyst for a telecommunications company. (Can you feel the geekness emanating from me yet?) And for the most part people are used to me being a bit of a freak so I can dress pretty much how I want to. I've been known to wear my jammies to work.

At college, I can dress as I please, but I work as an in home care provider and have a second job as a tutor. I dress down a bit so I don't give the old folks a heart attact and so I don't give the kid's parents a heart attack! Kids love the goth look though--I can't tell you how many times I've been in the grocery store and some kids say "oo look at that" in awe or "pretty!" or just stare at me and worried parents must turn their heads away, saying "no no, hun, not pretty."
Customer Service Rep for satellite TV? I've been there! They let me dress goth because I just worked the phones, but always reminded me--"The better you dress the the better the promotion!"Quote:

Being Nudemuse's househuband and computer tech, I usually wear whatever... if anything at all.
Usually only leave the house a couple times a day and then its anything from jeans and t-shirt to jammies. :1orglaugh
Who the hell would want a promotion at this place???Quote:

Right now I'm doing video editing at a TV news station. Our shifts go around the clock, so that would make it a day/night/morning job? I can wear whatever I want. My favorite parts of it are biking to work at 3:30 in the morning through downtown streets that are completely empty and quiet, and knowing where all the stabbings/accidents/crazy shit happened that was cleared away by police and EMS before you woke up. There's something faintly erotic about going to the grocery store in the daytime and knowing that less than 24 hours ago, the sidewalk you are crossing was covered in blood from the twisting body of a gut-stabbed muscle freak. And nobody else around you knows. But maybe I just like secrets.
disabled former computer tech. aspiring poet/novelist
I am the aviation fuel tech for the Canadian Army while they are on their Peacekeeping mission in Bosnia... I wear anything that will piss off my boss... my black "coroner" t-shirt usually does the trick, he says it is disconcerting to the pilots... hmmm
That and the fact that I have tagged all the choppers with a small South African flag in awkward places... fun fun fun

I have this dream job!!! I can't believe it!!! It is full of gorgeous, hot guys, and my boss is this playboy billionaire sexy cool person, and I am his new ASSISTANT!!! And the vice president is so gorgeous that my mouth drops open every time I see him...
And all the other boys are gorgeous too, they all look like they are in bands.
And it's this gorgeous office with this panaramic view of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan and the river and NJ. I watch the ships go by.
And it's super easy. I just answer phones and order things. It doesn't pay much, but who cares.
Graduate student.
No dress code in the least.
Wear kitty ears to class, and no one even raises an eye. :)
