i've grown up watching horror flicks since i can remember so i've seen alot of em but for some reason only certain things abuot the films freak me out more than the whole movie.
the giant demon ghost in the doorway and the evil clown doll in poltergeist
the tarman from return of the living dead
the upside down spiderwalk scene from the exorcist
and the freaky upside down head people in the unborn.
what freaks you out?
A well executed threatening suspense scene can get to me a bit, sometimes. Where you know that invisible monsters are just outside your perception - maybe in vents, or parallel rooms and hallways, and you don't know which sudden gap will clear the barrier between you. Those work better in games, though, where you actually have to react to them and still make sound decisions.
Visible monstrosities don't really work on me like that. The more grotesque and dangerous looking they get, the more I'm likely to like them.
What is this tarman you're talking about? Do you mean the original zombie from the vat?
Most horror movies are pretty predictable so if something slightly unexpected happens I'll probably jump a little.
Movies don't scare me into having nightmares either. In fact the only thing I can remember getting nightmares from was The Incredible Hulk (the t.v. show. But I was around 5 or 6 years old).

what freaks me out is when people get cut in horrible places like the tendon that runs down to your heel(pet cemetery)

heh ... while I am all for this sort of film the content probably does freak me out... but I thought that was why we watched this sort of thing in the first place! then again I may not be rushing out to watch as I am most likely too squeamish. Then again i found Necromaniacs most acceptable...
zombie penis? id sort of imagine that as one of the first organs to deteriorate to unusability.

Although, any shows or clips that can show filmed footage of apparent real ghosts does creep me out pretty good.
