In your opinion who kicks more ass Black Sabbath or Led Zeppelin elaborate if you wish
Neither.
Wait. Zep. And only beacause of 'Kashmir'.
... I guess.
MC5 is better than both thsoe bands, and most of the bands today, and yesterday. ( but I voted for your hippie 70's music sucks. hehe.)
Doh! pressed the wrong button.
just remember kids if it werent for theese two bands we would be stuck with 60s r and b pop rock
yeah, which is way better.
i like some new music like most black metal is awesome pop however will always suck
yeah, I agree a hundred bands that use the same chords and the same screaming vocals and the same " I'm so bad ass because I worship satan and wear face paint like KISS" are wayyy more awesome than the bands that pioneered all the musical techniques (minus going "rarggghhhh!") that the bands of today use, and then talk shit about them.
by the way I was being sarcastic. you should drop the too kool fer skool routine. some things are popular because they are actually good.
yeah but i havent heard a decent song on MTV for like five years i dont think that all pop is bad just new crap look how popular the bands im doing this pole on are and i love them
well yeah, what's on mtv I don't consider to be music. when you have someone like britney spears that doesn't write her own songs and doesn't play any instraments, i'd call that karaoke.
thats what pop is today so thats what im refering to when i say pop
yeah, but that's not neccesarily to say that "pop" from the 40's, 50's...ok yeah, maybe the fifties.. but the sixties, and some 70's, even 80's sucks (definatly 90's, that sucks.). which is what I though you were trying to say.
KISS does Not worship SATAN. And KISS Is cool. :D
:eeek: :thumb:
no doubt. I was refering to modern day black metal bands like Immortal and dimmu borgir.
robert plant lives by me and he used to go out with my great aunty rose, :thumb: well theres my claim to fame
ohh and ozzy went to school with my old english teacher
They worship $$$ above all...Quote:

Darn kids with your crazy rock and or roll music.
OMG, they aren't even in the same league okay? I mean, i like Black Sabbath a LOT, but holy fuck - you're talking about Zeppelin, man.Quote:

Not that i have an opinion or anything.

Zeppelin was the more technically proficient, but Sabbath was far more influential in the long run. I just wish they'd stop dragging their own legacy through the dirt in order to squeeze a few more bucks out of their long-suffering fans.

someones gonna shoot me for saying this but i think if sabbabth and zeppelin faced off in a battle of the bands type thing sabbath would win because of sheer power but i do agree that zeppelin are probably better musicians
I don't think that one is better than the other....depends on my mood, as to which I prefer. They both have very strong qualities. \m/
good point
I'm not alarmed, now. ;)Quote:

lets see , if robert plant and ozzy were too 'sick' to play one night which concert going crowd would do the most damage? uhh sabbath
Black Sabbath.
I dunno there were some damn hard and heavy garage rawk bands back in the 60's and 70's that just rawked hardcore...but this isbetween the two...depends on the songs...but ovearl..Black Sabbath
Immortal has nothing to do with satan worship. Their lyrics are more about weather forecast than anything else :D :D :DQuote:

Both of those bands that you mentioned are 'modern black metal', but they were also a part of the 'true Norwegian scene' of the early 90. Well, right after the Mayhem, Darkthrone and Burzum story, anyways. They were there from the beginning, and evolved. Which is a much better thing than what some "new old-school black metal bands" are doing today. Playing the same music as Darkthrone did 10 years ago. And, black metal is pretty "dry", but thats the way it is. You can either like it or not - no big philosophy.
SABAAAAAAAAAAAAATH...
Black Sabbath. Tony Innomi is a great guitarist. There's something to the minimalistic way he plays. It fits with the dark mood.
there really is no comparison.
LED Z. are up there with Lenerd Skinerd, Zappa, Beefheart, pink floyd, ac/dc, the doors and the rolling stones.
Black sabbath were performers not musicians....look at the depths to which OZZY has sank.
yeah, to qoute a freind of mine: " Immortals pretty cool... for a gay metal band."Quote:

Obviously youve never seen Sabbath live they are fucking awesome musicians and they still tour (though they milk the whole reunion thing way to much) where the hell are Robert Plant and Jimmy Page?Quote:

black sabbath is cooler imuch cooler
I... don't like either.
So I guess I am saying your hippie 70's music sucks.
Now now now, let's not pretend that Zep never went on stage too fucked up to play. I do believe that they were fairly well aquainted with a long list of illegal substances.Quote:

But I dont think that that should detract from the legacy Sabbath (Black) left on music in general. Some of the greatest musicians of our time have been heavily influenced by Sabbath's music (Without Iommi, heavy metal would not exist as we know it today). Same can be said about Zeppelin. I think that Zeppelin showed that you can bring lots of different musical influences into rock and roll. As far as raw musicianship goes, Zep wins hands down (my opinion). However, I think that Sabbath probably had the edge on coming up with THE RIFF, ya know... the one you cant get out of your head for a week. Listen to the lead riff in "For Whom The Bell Tolls" (One of Metallica's finer moments), and its the riff from "Faries Wear Boots". There have been loads of recycled Zep riffs that have appeared in songs. Really, trying to compare the two is like apples and oranges. I think that these two bands probably did more to change popular music than anyone since the Beatles.
