Quarterstaff - simple, cheap and effective! Very hard to counter with most bladed weapons. Of course, you need to be in an open space...indoors I use my razor sharp wit.

i like knives only if they are in my hands, but i get really freaked out if somebody else has a knife near me... i need to be the holder of the knife!
Like I said in the last one...an angry midget...you spin him around by his legs and you can take out just about anyone...more so if you give him a weapon to hold...like a baby with long teeth.
That still reminds Me of THE TICK. Lol, I loved that show.

Here is a shot of me wearing my custom made Katars. Love 'em, have all the benefits of shortswords combined with hand-to-hand cababilities.
i love knives and most bladed weapons. i have a few special knives that ive collected over the years that have tasted blood. my favs would have to my stilettos, stylet, and athane. i used to have a few swords but my girlfriend ran off with them when we broke up.:( but if it came to beating someone up, id go with my mace!
I'd like to get a good axe for my car one of these days. all I have now is an aluminum pipe that used to be part of a flag pole, it's more of a visual deterant rather then a WMD. When I had a gun i used to wave it around a lot while driving, so I think that can be added to the large list that's been compiling on here for reasons why I think people shouldn't own guns.

Admittedly, very good with my blades but you sort of have to dump them once they have been used so don't grow too attatched. Preferance, bare hands or a heavy gauge steel guitar string looped around 3" bolts.. nowhere near as messy as a knife.

I have a long list to choose from, but I'd have to narrow it down to either straight hand to hand, a basket-hilt claymore, or any landsknecht weapon.
Of course, nekotes and tonfas are fun, too.
