Restart your computer & manualy hold down the eject button through the entire restart process (start before you hit power to turn it on)
possibly prying it open with a pair of knives?
try my method first.
buy new computer :P
if you look close there should be a tiny hole near wehere the cd tray comes out of all you need to do is insert a paperclip and the cd tray should pop out

Yes I rebooted and found the hole and I am prying away with a paper clip to no avail. I even went into MY COMPUTER, right clicked the damn CD drive and clicked on EJECT, and it just made a noise as if it were TRYING to open.
Now I will kick the damn thing!!! Throw it out the window into the Hudson River!!
did you try what I recomended? I will be shocked if it doesn't work.
There is no eject button.
Do what I did once: take it out in the drive way and fuck it up with a shovel. If you don't manage to split the drive in two I should work nicely---but I lost a good CD that way!
Definitely try this before the pitching out the window method.Quote:

Laptop CD-ROMs also have the manual release holeQuote:

I tied the paper clip too. This is the receptionists computer, the one that no one else wants. They always give me the horrible computers that don't work. It creaks all the time.
I had someone e-mail me the photo from a copy shop.
Try pushing in the drive, before pressing the eject button again. It happened to me on my home computer not long ago. Just push it back in firmly, but not too hard.
Well, I doubt yelling at the Machine would work, but its worth a try. :P
Did you try selecting the drive in your My Computer window and hitting eject? Try doing that in safe mode...
If it's a broken drive then your best bet it to force it open and buy a new one.
Yes, I tried that, and it makes a creaking noise and starts shaking as if it is trying to open and is stuck. Soon it will start to smoke and catch on fire. (Don't laugh, the last computer they gave me actually DID start to smoke and there was a smell of burning plastic!!)Quote:

Try taking a ScrewDriver, and unassembling it completely around the Drive?*
Open up the case and try removing the drive if you can. It sounds like it's jammed on something. If the cord is long enough, pull the drive out of your machine and leave it still hooked up, and see if it'll open then. If so, there's something in your case getting in the way; if not, then it's a problem with the drive itself.
How did the paperclip suggestion go? Did you try unfolding a strong paperclip and pushing it in the tiny manual exect hole rather firmly and push hard? That really should release the drive at least enough to pry it open.
Yes I tried that. I am at work, and the computer they gave me is just really beat up!That's why they gave it to me!
But you should see these pictures I just took!! Amazing! I will get the film today after 5:00. I guess I will just post them on my website.
