Any Leonard Cohen fans?

I have been absolutely enthralled with Leonard Cohen's music and poetry for the past decade. This past summer there was a Cohen get together in Manhatten but, I wasn't able to attend due to work. (I'm a nurse and well the shortage is horrid here) I was wondering if anyone went or heard...and if he managed to surprise everyone and make an appearance.? Today he is 70 and his last album *10 new Songs* was brilliant. The man is utterly amazing. His music IS poetry.

The BEST is the soundtrack to McCabe and Mrs. Miller with Julie Christie and Warren Beatty. If you have this soundtrack or can find it, I want it. It must be impossible to find. The most beautiful music in the world, just haunting and sad.

Mistress Jennifer Ma'am. The 7' album with the three Cohen songs from that film was released in USA and France via 1971.

The 3 Cohen songs in that film were:

The Stranger song
Sisters of mercy
Winter lady

Although, I am hunting the soundtrack for You, (it is most rare) I do have all 3 songs in my collection, if You would like I would be happy to send them to You! I am sure if someone hunts down that rare album, it will cost a pretty penny!

Wow! You have those songs? I love those songs. They are not on CD though, on a 7" record. Have you seen the film, McCabe and Mrs. Miller?

My favorite is "Winter Lady":

And it plays at the very end of the movie, as Warren Beatty is dying in the snow and Julie Christie is smoking opium!!!!!!!

I love the sound of the piano in that song, sort of like honky tonk piano echoed out far away...

If you ever convert your 7" into a CD, I would be happy to buy a CD from you.

Leonard also was in the soundtracks of other films. Natural Born Killers *dance me to the end of love* and The Secretary (BDSM film) *I'm Your man*..He is an absolutely amazing artist as well..seems everything he touches turns to gold!

Could you put them on a CD? I would be happy to pay for the CD, postage, etc.

Leonard Cohen is one of my favorite authors. I've read Beautiful Losers more times than I can count. My favorite songs of his is probably Tower of Song.

Cohen is great! I have listened to him for years. I love all the ones listed so far....and though it is the only one of his that got any "main stream" recognition I still love "Everybody Knows"

Leonard Cohen is incredible. Damn right.

I like 'stories from the street'.
I haven't heard his new album though.

As a side note: Lenny was found in possession of child pornography in the early eighties.
