Good Evening ~ My Intro

Hi! :Regular_W

I just wanted to take this time and introduce myself. My name is John and I'm from PA. I've been in the "scene" for most of my life. What "scene" do you ask? Many! I've always been into all kinds of things.

The first time I heard about Blue Blood was back in October of 1993. One of the many things I used to do (and still do from time to time) was play White Wolf's Vampire: The Masquerade. It was the Halloween and there was a Masquerade convention at the Sheraton Inn Hotel near where I lived. I was a very wicked weekend. It was three days of no sleep, no food, acting like a crazy Nosferatu (named Rat) and too much partying. Sometime during that weekend I met some of the folks from BLT (I wish I could remember them, Amelia G. I'm sure you were one of them). At their table I pick up a copy of BLT (3.1 Fall Anniversary) and fell in love with it. I was so happy to find their site on the web and could read all the other issues they had done (while on that site, I found this one).

Well, I could go on and on about myself, but I like to be a bit of an enigma until I get to know others. Please feel free to ask me anything if you would like. If the mood strikes me, I may just answer. Hope to hear from and get to know all of you better soon.

Oh wow! Yes, I would have been one of the BLT crew. If it was a BLT table rather than a Blue Blood one and White Wolf was there, I'm thinking that this was in Pennsylvania but not in Philly as I recall. This would have been back when all the White Wolf people were just about to get their first small offices and they were all in black leather jackets too and we were all bonding on that. I remember some of the convention people being obnoxious about the music and clothes i.e. people who dress like that can't read yadda yadda yadda, only it was BLT and White Wolf and our mighty black-clad armies vs. them and they decided to roll with what we wanted. I loved the White Wolf guys so much for having a boom box to drown out that horrible filk tape with. Damn, that was a fucking fun time.

The navigation is a little tricky to get used to, but we archived a lot of the old issues. We used to have such a great time at the East Coast conventions and stuff. I miss getting to hand people our cool zines and actually get to see them react and we could laugh and stuff together. The web is a great tool, but I miss the days when you had to connect with other cool folks IRL. Glad you made it over here. Welcome!

Got to looking at that issue... Wow, that one takes me back... oh my...

You are correct it was not in Philly, it was in Harrisburg. It was hosted by Night Owl Productions (Ian {I think} and ?what the fuck was his name?), whom had wrote the basics for Minds Eye and moved down to Georgia to work with Mark and the old gang. The convention was to test out the prototype rules for Minds Eye.

I remember whomever did the convention booking for the hotel had to have been twisted. It was "our" group and we had the first three floors and then some right-wing conservative Christian group who was booked for the fourth floor. And, the hotel gave us full reign over the place. It made game playing so much fun! :evil_lol: I missed going to the second convention they had the following year at the Marieott Hotel. I'm sure that must have been nuts have some eleven or so floor to play on.

Boy the memories.

Yep that's it. I'm sure I still have my copy some where, I just can't find it. :frown:
I've gone to the site many times now and I'm still finding new stuff I've haven't see before.
But, I'll never forget this issue or that weekend. Or should I say what I can recall of that weekend. :wink2:

One of the many things I enjoy are Krypt Kiddies. To date I have all three boys that were released to Spencer Gift's.
