Quiche for MistressJennifer!
Especially because MistressJennifer claims to be hungry, I cooked a quiche today. Here are the ingredients all laid out:

Here is the quiche before entering the oven:

And here is the final result, piping hot and waiting to be eaten.

Bon appetit!

So much time slaving over a hot oven, and no one came to dinner. Well, at least I had something for breakfast this morning!

Now, tell me, what kind of wine did you have with the quiche? I would imagine some kind of white wine?

None , since I had an important meeting the next day which required a clear head and me doing some driving to get there. I never drink before driving anywhere. However, had the chance arisen, I would have chosen a light red.

Well I will have a glass of chilled Chardonnay tonight and make a toast to you, and I will pretend that I am eating the quiche!!!
(Sorry I have not been posting much today, I am trying to figure out how to make labels from mail merge, excel documents, etc. COMPUTER BIMBO HERE in other words.... Still can't figure it out. I USED to know how to do it)
Re: Quiche for MistressJennifer!
Well last night I had an artichoke, so at least that is ONE of the ingredients of the quiche!!! And Chardonnay.... I PRETENDED that I was eating quiche...
I really am flying over there, and I am going to show up at your door with a bottle of champagne!!!

A sort of baked cake with eggs and cream and cheese and stuff.

Flaky pastry base. This one has creme fraiche as the main ingredient with artichoke hearts and spinach, dill, four eggs, salt and pepper and cheese sprinkled on top. Butter to line the dish, of course, and bake until brown at about 200°, then grill for ten minutes to make the cheese top crispy.
Basically it's a case of lining the dish with the pastry, mixing everything else bar the cheese together and spreading it around the filed dish, sprinkling with cheese and baking.
Dead easy.

Creme fraiche! Spinach! Yummy!!! I love all the cream and butter and fattening stuff! You are a real gourmet chef!

Do you have a diary product allergy? I'd suggest, if that's the case, that you substitute soya cream and vegan cheese for those products. I often use soya cream and soya milk for cooking purposes, sometimes goat's milk too, for that slightly sharper flavour.
