I'll have a record shop open soon but I have too many other projects going right now so it will be a while. If your ganna get into vinyl seriously I suggest E-bay. It can be frustrating at times but the selection online is unbeatable. You have over 100,000 titles to search every week.......

my favorite vinyl I have is GG Allin's final record - brutality and bloodshed for all
oh I also have a limited numbered edition of the blood brother's march on electric children. that one's pretty sweet too.
i have a lot of happy hardcore, electro, 80s, and trance records.... i also have a bunch of classical, blues, and oldies because my grandma gave me her record collection before she died because she knew i could put them to use on my turn tables.
I need some GG Allin.......baaad.

Many years ago, as I was moving from Belfast over to Germany, I was faced withe choice of what to do with two collections I had made. One was vinyl and numbered something like 10,000 titles, mainly 45s. The other collection was books and included many, many rare works but only 3,000. I stuck with the books in the end and now have something like 6,000 in all. The vinyl all went to charity.
Ouch!
I woulda gone with the books too!
I don't collect vinyl per se. I do have a lot of original old school albums like Black Flag, Subhumans, DK, Bauhaus etc. It ranges widely, I have also picked up a lot of albums of classical music and older comedians I loved as a kid. To me, vinyl gives a range and warmth of sound that cannot be imitated. I have rarely paid over $5 for an album. I like to search garage sales and smaller stores for the hidden gems. I don't count out buying albums outright, but the search and discovery method is extremely rewarding.:thumb:

I was going to start a collection, waaaaay back in 96, when I discovered some old vinyls in my father's closet, before we moved to a different town. Queen's "A Night at the Opera" and "Flash", Rick Wakeman's "Journey to the Center of the Earth", Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and some other miscelaneous stuff. But my uncle came by and "helped" the moving crew load the stuff and threw what he thought was trash away. Guess what went out with the garbage.
I haven't had a phonograph in a long time, but I still have an odd collection on vinyl from way back. Black Flag, G.B.H., Duran Duran, AC/DC, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Prince... I think you can see when these were picked up, hahaha...
