Re: Emotion Filled Songs ?
I normally don't cry when it comes to music, it just puts me into a really mellow mood. However, the main theme to Schindler's List will make me cry every time.
That violin tells me a story and it makes me mourn. :(

Re: Emotion Filled Songs ?
Part of my musical self-re-education that I am going through right now is to see songs for what they are. Trying to disengage "nostalgia" which is AN emotion from the emotion of the song period. So much of our connection to music is association with events, places, people in our lives. There are pieces, however that I can say hit me so hard as to elicit a physical reaction, even barring my own nostalgic feelings.
Fanfare for the Common Man - Copland
Albinoni's Adagio
(Don't laugh) Lose Yourself - Eminem
New Level - Pantera (the best workout warmup song EVER)
Somebody Told Me - The Killers
Goddamn Rock and Roll - The Morning Star
Thunderstruck - AC/DC
Killing Game - Skinny Puppy
The physical reaction may range from punching the ceiling of my car while driving to some sort of desperate comatose state - all of this must occur in a relatively controlled environment where it is possible to get back to normal soon after. Doesn't happen often because the song must be perfectly constructed; when it does, it is soo satisfying.
Re: Emotion Filled Songs ?
That make me cry?-
well- theres these 2 Peter gabriel songs that get me for some reason-
I believe one is "Don't Give Up", and the other is "I Grieve"-
my sister died a few years ago and her favorite artist was Bob Dylan(to an insane degree!!!)- the night of her funeral I came home and played some of my Dylan CDs and cried for hours- I haven't been able to bring myself to listen to any them since. Even if one comes on the radio- its like an involuntary reaction and I have to change the station or leave the room.
then theres this Morphine song- "Gone for Good"- that gets me all choked up and weirded out too-
thats it-
