I am currently working as a petty criminal, though I am an aspiring writer. My own aesthetique is a dazzling combination of Mafioso, post-apocalypse biker gang, and serial killer kitsch.
I am here because I once bought a stack of 'Blue Blood' in a grimy porn shop in New Orleans, about six years ago, and I liked it. Still have them, actually...

i thought Neil Gaiman had totally deconstructed the idea that serial killers were even remotely cool.

Actually, I believe the 'Insane Clown Posse' did that, simply by virtue of embracing them. Thus, the reference to the general tackiness of SKs.
Mafioso are also not remotely cool. Post-apocalyptic biker gangs are cool, but they make up only one part of the 'dazzling combination'.
